    Normalcy Has Arrived

Drinking chocolate and writing… bliss! The writing life continues to be awesome, 40K words into my two new works and I still have epic time to create and be creative – it’s truly blissful. I’ve also cut out booze and speed (caffeine) from the diet and started eating better to banish the inner bitch. Not that I don’t enjoy her enigmatic nature but lord being an Angsty Writer is not cool and hella exhausting after doing much of … well… nothing. Visualize an angsty hamster on a wheel running hell bent for leather. On the second novel, the one I’ve convinced myself is just a short story, I’ve got a…

    FRIDAY!! Thank god.

It’s Friday and thank the good lawd it’s here, not sure if I could work another day and not have my eyes bleed. Good things this week though: Massive amounts of writing completed, new schedule of working the first 4 hours at admin tasks and the last 4 hours in creative has worked well… sorta. Today there was a snafu in the schedule since I broke my cardinal rule of not reading reviews. Just took a little jaunt online to grab my ASIN #, then BLAM! River Adventure

The mighty (and frigid) Columbia River this Sunday – gorgeous! Froze my patootie off this weekend in a couple mile walk (then run at the end when I had to pee…) next to the mighty Columbia River. As  you can see the river was nearly as placid as a lake, the mergansers were just chillin’/eating/chillin’ in the middle of the river, great blue heron flew by me and a Canadian goose was not out with it’s folk flying around in the air honking… I’d like to think it was a she, and she was sitting on some eggs, but it was probably a boy goose looking for some action on…

    Write Motherfucker, Write

The thought for today: Imagine if people did less talking, less watching others talk and simply did more? I realize that Twitter and Facebook would suddenly become obsolete, but just for a moment imagine. Imagine folks saying less of what they were going to do and just went and did it. Imagine the productivity, the reduction in crime, the loss of hunger. Nirvana would be achieved, no doubt. Here’s my beef. Potential writers. Writers who are full of potential energy. Dripping in ideas. Ideas for their new book, ideas for the book they haven’t finished, ideas for you who are actually writing, ideas for the world. They suggest, philosophize, do…

    It hath arrived….

The day has arrived. You know, the day where all your dreams come true and you stand there dumbstruck, completely overwhelmed by it all? That day has arrived for me. On Dec. 14th I left my “proper” profession to pursue being an author full time. It’s a gamble and as any life coach or business advisor will confirm it’s a risky proposition. Though they’ll also say that unless you give 100% of yourself to the object of your desires you will continue to get less that 100% back. At some point during your career you have to go “all in” and this December I did just that. But as I…
