While most of my creativity is in imagining stories and the characters within those stories I do have times where I need to let my mind ruminate over scenes and I find the best way to do that is by dumping paints onto various creative mediums. I’m allowed to still be creative while my subconscious is free to make connections and problem solve.
Mostly I do acrylic pouring onto canvas or cork. My paints range from bargain acrylics from Target to professional grade liquid acrylics. I mostly blend with Liquitex gloss medium and dilute with a 1:1 floetrol/water mix until it’s the consistency of hot honey. For cells I use BioSilk (I had it around) for it’s silicone content and mix into individual colors for small cells and blob into the pour cup between color additions for large cells.
As this page grows I’d like to attempt to keep a record of each piece and the materials I used to create them so if anyone is interested in duplicating it they can.
